The Internal Revenue Service may be too busy to answer your phone call this tax season, but they want taxpayers to know they are still processing tax refunds in a timely fashion. According to an IRS report released Thursday, 90 percent of taxpayers that were due a refund last year received it within 21 days of filing an income tax return. They expect the same trend to continue this season. IRS Commissioner John Koskinen said checking the status of a refund will remain hassle-free. “There aren’t any secret tricks to checking on the status of a refund,” he stated. “Using IRS.gov is the best way for taxpayers to get the latest information.”
