Bankruptcy Attorney in Cook County IL

Thomas W. Lynch & Associates, P.C. – Bankruptcy Attorneys
Hickory Hills, Cook County IL Law Offices

Times are harsh in Cook County.

Official figures show the County’s various local administrations are facing mounting debts totaling some $108 billion in 2011, and with the three top economic analysts Fitch, Moody and Standard & Poor predicting the “probable” downgrade of the U.S. AAA debt rating in 2012 the financial future and well-being for Cook County citizens does not look promising.

The nation as a whole today continues to meet declining fiscal conditions, federal cut-backs, mass unemployment, and also the possibility of feeble recovery for a long time to come. The big banks and major companies received an enormous bit of support with big bail-outs, while the small company-owner and regular citizen have to bear the on-going impact from the disaster.

Now the liability of private debts is being felt by thousands. Such events make it hard for business-proprietors and individuals to understand who and where you can turn for a top debt lawyer – which is why Thomas W. Lynch & Associates can provide the assistance you are looking for as we supply the debt relief agency services that many could find useful for climbing out of the red hole.

Cook County, IL

Once home to the Dakhotah Indians up until the 1620s, Cook County is now the second most populous county in the U.S with just over 5 million residents of varied ancestries enjoying 1,635 square miles of land and water. There are over 130 municipalities in this region of Illinois, the largest being Chicago with some 54% of the population with 30 townships lying outside the Windy City’s boundaries.

Cook County was named after Daniel Cook in 1831. Daniel Cook was one of the earliest and youngest statesmen in Illinois history serving as the county’s first Attorney General, although ironically there is no evidence that he ever visited the place that bore his name.

There were just 100 residents in Cook County to start with but by 1840 the population had swelled to 10,000, expanded to 349,000 thirty years later before hitting the 5 million mark by 1960.

But it was back in 1831 when the Cook County Board first met that the foundations for the area’s growth and development was orchestrated requesting 10 acres of land from the state for public buildings and the appointment of a county clerk. From then on the Board organized the erection of an almshouse, some taverns, the construction of two highways, and a ferry across the Chicago River while declaring itself responsible for the poor, sick, and prisoners as well as roads, courts, elections, and taxation.

It is these basic functions that remain at the heart of Cook County administration today.
